About the project

This blog is a showcase for work created by a group of young people from Haregate in Leek in Staffordshire using photography and a wide variety of light sources, from disco-balls to light sabres and fairy lights, to create light-paintings.

Light-paintings are long-exposure photographs that record the movement of light.

The project takes place at Borderland Voices and is part of the Land of the Churnet project. Thanks to Andy Collins at Borderland Voices and Kate Carter and Jill Ashton from Staffordshire Youth Service for their help, support and cups of coffee and to the young people for their enthusiasm and ideas.
